Windows XP or Windows 7 - Time to Upgrade?

Windows XP or Windows 7 - Time to Upgrade?

If you are still operating Windows XP or Windows 7, it is time to upgrade.

Microsoft had ceased support of Windows XP on 8th April 2014, and as of 14th January 2020, support of Windows 7 has also ceased.

This means that if you are still operating with these systems, you are no longer secure and at a greater risk of compromising your system's integrity, as no further security patches or updates are available.

If you currently operate Windows Embedded POSReady 7, the end of life date is 12th October 2021.

Tekdis is currently rolling out new products with Windows 10 IoT LTSC, which is the preferred migration path for you.

BUILT FOR THE ENTERPRISE

The Windows platform we offer is built for enterprise applications. Not only does it provide extended, 10-year support from the date of version launch by Microsoft, but it also reduces the chance of inappropriate staff activity by taking away unwanted functionality such as Cortana and the Microsoft Store to prevent access to non-work related software.

PROCESSOR LIMITATIONS

Upgrading your old hardware with a new operating system may not work.

Windows XP and 7 will not operate when using Intel 3rd generation processors onwards. Your only solution is to upgrade your hardware and operating system.

NOW IS THE TIME TO UPGRADE

All Tekdis embedded PCs come with the latest versions of Windows 10 IoT LTSC, so if you are ready to move to a new operating system, Tekdis has the hardware that can support you.
